Airshows at Seaside resorts are increasingly popular in the UK as they pose fewer challenges to Airshow organisers in the current very restricted health and safety environment and of course they are magnets for increased tourism. For the aviation photographer they offer the opportunity for different perspective as the sea and coastline can add interesting elements to your photographs.
This image comes from the RAF Red Arrows display at Eastbourne, as was taken from near Beachy Head some distance from the display centre and a great deal higher. This provides a very different perspective to the usual dynamic synchro pair maneuvers usually taken with the aircraft directly in from of you, here you are almost inline with the aircraft nicely framed by the coastline.
Of course this requires use of a long lens, in this case making full use of the 600mm end of my zoom lens !
