Exercise Cobra Warrior 25-1, the first iteration of the Royal Air Force's premier large-scale tactical air exercise for the year, took place between February 24th and March 14th, 2025. Coordinated primarily from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, this major multinational event involved around 90 aircraft and personnel from various nations, designed to train participants in complex, high-intensity air combat operations.
The exercise brought together air and land forces to enhance interoperability and refine warfighting tactics in realistic, challenging scenarios. Participants included the UK's Royal Air Force (operating Typhoon, Lightning, Voyager, and Atlas aircraft, alongside RAF Regiment ground forces), the French Air and Space Force (Rafale fighters and A330 MRTT tanker), the Royal Saudi Air Force (F-15SA fighters), and, for the first time, the Turkish Air Force (F-16 fighters).
