In June 2021 the Antonov An-225 Mriya a unique transport aircraft developed to carry the soviet era Buran space shuttle orbiter visited RAF Brize Norton returning RAF helicopters to the UK from overseas deployment. The An-225 was tragically destroyed by Russian Armed forces during the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
